Red Kites in Powys

Red Kites are one of the UK's most mesmerising birds of prey - elegant, effortless and unmistakeable. With their chest plumage, forked tail, and wings that seem to carve poetry in the sky, they bring a sense of wild freedom to every landscape they grace. These incredible birds were close to extinction in the UK, and have made an incredible come back due to conservation efforts. They are now a fairly common site in Powys, which has a thriving population, one of the strongest in the world. Here are a selection of images of this magnificent animal.
